News #114 - Setting the pace for global logistics

30.05.2025

The transport logistic and air cargo Europe 2025 exhibition will return to the Messe München exhibition center from June 2–5, reaffirming its status as the premier meeting point for the global logistics and air cargo industries.

With over 2,500 exhibitors from more than 70 countries, spanning 12 halls and expansive outdoor spaces, this edition promises to tackle the industry's most critical challenges with depth and innovation.

Conference Program: Insights Across All Modes and Sectors

The event features a packed schedule of 60 sessions across four forums, offering a platform for presentations and discussions addressing key transport modes and industry sectors.

A total of 154 logistics brands, ranging from established leaders to emerging players, will showcase their expertise on stages in Halls A1, A2, A3, and B1. Core topics will include market trends, risk and opportunity assessment, and cutting-edge processes and solutions.

“This is all about the future of logistics,” said Dr. Robert Schönberger, Global Industry Lead for the exhibition. “And because that future is inconceivable without people, the trade fair is increasingly also about a future in logistics.”

The 2025 edition will provide a comprehensive exploration of key themes such as airfreight, cybersecurity, sustainability, AI, career development, and multimodal connectivity, presented through a thoughtfully curated program.

Core Themes in Focus

The Exhibitor Stage in Hall B5.133/234 will host 33 sessions concentrating on critical topics like automation, multimodal solutions, customs processes, and smart infrastructure. These sessions aim to provide actionable insights for logistics professionals.

Startups will play a significant role, highlighted by initiatives like Logistics for the Future and Logistics Changers: Startups Rock Logistics. The ÖBB Rail Cargo Group will also host a unique locomotive naming ceremony, underscoring the event’s commitment to innovation.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be addressed through practical applications rather than theoretical discussions, exploring its potential to transform operations from last-mile delivery to enhancing rail freight competitiveness.

Air Cargo at the Forefront

Marking its 10th edition, air cargo Europe has expanded its footprint to occupy two halls (A1 and A2) under the theme “At the Cutting Edge.” This year’s program features four panel discussions addressing critical issues such as:

The future of AI in air cargo.

Sustainable transformation across the industry.

Tackling “greenhushing,” the underreporting of sustainability initiatives due to fear of backlash, a topic led by Women in Aviation and Logistics.

The World Air Cargo Awards, hosted by Air Cargo Week, will return on June 3 at 18:00 in Hall A to honor the sector’s most innovative contributors.

Navigating Geopolitical and Technological Change

Amid a fragmented geopolitical landscape, the conference will address topics like:

“Global Supply Chains in Transition”

“My Nation First: Anti-globalization, Trade Wars, and Hot Wars”

“Future of Air Freight and Freighters”

Sessions hosted by Verkehrsrundschau and the Federal Association of Freight Transport and Logistics will explore the survivability of mid-sized operators and the future of SMEs in this evolving environment.

Digital transformation will also take center stage, with the Expert Council on Digital Transformation in Transport and Logistics examining how freight forwarders are adapting to real-time challenges.

Future-Proofing Logistics

Sustainability will be a major focus, with dedicated tracks on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies, including innovations in transport management, electric mobility, and carbon reduction technologies.

Rail transport will feature prominently, with sessions addressing its role in long-term decarbonization. Discussions will include topics like “Reshaping Combined Transport” and strategies for integrating non-craneable trailers by rail.

Workforce development and talent acquisition will also be key themes. The final day of the fair will spotlight employer branding, gender diversity, and strategies to address the driver shortage through academic and business-led initiatives. Areas like the Campus Plaza in Hall B1 will connect industry leaders with emerging talent.

Why It Matters

More than just an exhibition, transport logistic and air cargo Europe 2025 serves as the nerve center for a rapidly evolving industry. The conference will challenge attendees to think beyond silos, embracing ecosystems that integrate technology, policy, and people for a sustainable future.

Dr. Schönberger emphasized the event's significance:
“The conference program is growing as the industry becomes more significant. We are proud of the great commitment of the exhibitors, media, and partners. transport logistic is an important platform for discourse in the community.”
