According to data from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the whole country has 8 localities with export turnover of over 10 billion USD in the first 10 months of the year and one locality with over 40 billion USD.
In the first 10 months of 2022, the export value of domestic economic sector was 80,36 billion USD, up 13,4%, accounting for 25,7% of total export turnover; FDI sector (including crude oil) reached 232,46 billion USD, up 16,8%, accounting for 74,3%.
Considering export turnover by localities, according to the report of the General Department of Customs, there are 8 localities with export turnover of over 10 billion USD in the first 10 months of the year, including: Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Binh Duong, Dong Nai , Hanoi, Hai Phong, Thai Nguyen and Ho Chi Minh City. In particular, Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) is the only locality with an export value of over 40 billion USD.
Ho Chi Minh City is the leading locality in the country with export value reaching 40.37 billion USD, up 13,4% over the same period in 2021. In which, industrial goods had the highest export value with 25,46 billion USD, up 14,7% over the same period and accounting for 74,6% of the city's total export turnover.
In addition, the agricultural products reached export value of 3,57 billion USD, increased by 6,1% over the same period and accounted for 10,5% of total export turnover; seafood products with 1,11 billion USD, up 69,7% over the same period and accounting for 3,3%; forest products with 559,0 million USD, up
The runner-up is Bac Ninh with total export turnover in the first 10 months of the year reaching 38,73 billion USD, up 19,6% over the same period last year. According to the Bac Ninh Statistical Office, the foreign-invested sector is the foundation for export activities achieved high increase of 19,8%.
Specifically, the standout industries are phones, computers and components accounted for the largest proportion of 29,8%. In addition, textile, garment materials and footwear, although accounted for a small proportion, had the highest increase (+37.3%).
With export turnover in the first 10 months of 2022 reaching over US$20 billion, Binh Duong and Thai Nguyen are the next top localities among of Vietnam. In which, export turnover of Binh Duong reached 28,97 billion USD, up 9,4% over the same period and ranked third in the country.
Meanwhile, Thai Nguyen ranks fourth with export turnover in the first 10 months of the year reaching about 26,59 billion USD. Dong Nai ranked fifth with an export value of 20,81 billion USD, up 18,6% over the same period in 2021.
