Largest ocean carrier MSC expands into air cargo

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company SA – A well-known ocean carrier recently added MSC Air Cargo solution to catch up with customer demand and as value-added service for its container shipping sector.

MSC Air Cargo will open to serve in early 2023 after several months of development in 2022. In the same year of 2023, MSC first four aircrafts of Boeing 777-200f also sequentially delivered and operated by Atlas Air.

In recent movements, MSC appointed Jannie Davel – former personnel of Delta Cargo, Emirates SkyCargo, DHL to develop its air cargo service. Mr.Davel’s experience expands over 30 years in air cargo sector, formerly, he was appointed as Vice president of DHL Global RFQ Management in 2008 and then promoted to Vice president of Global Airfreight Product in German, latter to SVP as Head of Airfreight in USA market. In 2018, he got position of Vice president of Cargo commercial operation in America market, and in the latest news, Mr.Davel as Management director of Commercial in Delta Cargo.

This is our first step into this market, and we plan to continue exploring various avenues to develop air cargo in a way that complements our core business of container shipping.”
