FDI contributes 388 billion USD in Vietnam’s trade turnover

Compared to the same period last year, import and export turnover of enterprises with foreign direct investment (FDI) increased by more than 51 billion USD.

According to the Vietnam General Department of Customs, by the end of September, the total import-export turnover of FDI enterprises reached US$387.77 billion, up 15.2% (equivalent to an increase of nearly US$51.3 billion).

Meanwhile, the domestic business sector was 170.16 billion USD, up 14.4% (equivalent to 21.4 billion USD) over the same period last year.

Statistics of the General Department of Customs show that the export of goods by FDI enterprises in the second period of September (September 16-30) reached US$ 13.14 billion, up 37%, equivalent to an increase of US$ 3.55 billion compared to the first period of the month.

On the overall, exports of this group of enterprises reached $208.12 billion in the first nine months of 2022, up 17.7% (equivalent to an increase of $31.33 billion) over the same period last year, accounting for 73.7% of the total export turnover of the country.

Imports of goods by FDI enterprises in the 2nd period of September reached 9.69 billion USD, up 8.1% (equivalent to 729 million USD) compared to the first period of September 2022.

Accumulated in the first 9 months of the year reached 179.64 billion USD, up 12.5% ​​(equivalent to 19.96 billion USD) over the same period last year, accounting for 65.2% of the total import turnover of the country.
